Andrew and Jon first partnered together to build PLAYHawaii.com in 2009 as the first group buying website in Hawaii. They were quickly known as the premier group buying site, featuring the best businesses in Hawaii while maintaining a high level of customer service to both
their users and merchants. PLAYHawaii was sold in 2011 to Crowdsavings.com.
Andrew Roth - President & Co-Founder
Over twelve years of experience in technology project management and business development. We started maiplay.com to help connect businesses with new customers and help consumers discover new experiences. With Accenture I learned the basics of project management for clients such as America Online and Cable & Wireless. Then I grew my business development skills with software company, Inovaware, and worked on clients including Morningstar, Verio, Rackspace, Autocad, and the Principal Financial Group. Built online marketing strategies for Hilo Hattie and Prudential Real Estate. Passionate about helping businesses discover the benefits of technology and ready for next wave of innovation.
Jon Sugihara - President & Co-Founder
I realized early on that the only time I am happy is when I'm starting a company and building a great product. I helped build Reel-Style.com with my sisters in 2003 reaching over 5 million impressions a month. I founded kwiry.com in 2007 which was sold in 2009 and followed that with SavvyCircle.com which was sold in 2011. Andrew and I are proud of PLAYHawaii because we got to work directly with business owners to create products that help them to succeed. We've taken what we've learned over the last 2 years working with merchants to create Perx.
